The Book Boost's 1 Year Anniversary & Blogger of the Year Award Nominees!

Find out how you can win big for participating in our Blogger of the Year Feature Events (and see Bonus Celebration Contest at bottom of post)!

The story behind the Book Boost....

About one year ago (on November 1, 2009), I launched a little business known as The Book Boost. It started out as a website that would sell promotion space to authors at budget pricing. A slow venture to take off but I did have some early interest when I started running ads for only 99 cents each!

After a few months, I realized that it was becoming difficult to draw readers to the site just to look at book ads. So, I converted the business over to a blog instead. That's when things took off for The Book Boost!

Now, not only do we run low price cover ad spots for authors but we offer FREE guest blogging opportunities to any author of any genre. This has increased the traffic to our site exponentially and has been a world of fun for me in the process.

Each of these guest bloggers bring their own fan base with them and therefore cross promotion occurs on a daily basis. Not to mention the fact that I've been truly honored to host authors from every genre imaginable (and even newly created genres) AND from every type of publishing that exists. From self published authors, to e-book small press authors, to mid-size print on demand authors, to major NY publishing house mass market authors and even a hard cover author or two from the NY Times Best Sellers list!

The one thing we all have in common? Our love for writing and our passion for getting our words and worlds out there for others to enjoy.

So, on this 1 year anniversary of The Book Boost I want to ask you to invite your friends, family, co-workers or anyone who likes to read to check us out. We have author hosted contests nearly every day of the week. If you are an aspiring author, we have some of the hottest and smartest authors in the biz sharing advice with you for FREE!

You can follow the blog (see the left hand column), follow us on Twitter (see the right hand column for link), and don't forget to join our Yahoo group (see right hand column for link) where we allow more free promotion for authors every day!

Also, if you want to place a super inexpensive cover ad, be sure to contact me at for details. I always have room for more!

Lastly, I'd like to make a special announcement today. I've carefully selected FIVE guest bloggers from this past year and nominated them for the First Annual Book Boost Blogger of the Year Award!

These nominees where selected based on a number of criteria such as....

1. Creating a humorous, unique, or memorable blog post;
2. Bringing in a lot of reader traffic to the blog;
3. A unique or memorable story idea;
4. A great or eye catching book cover or concept; and
5. Being a fabulous guest!

All of these factors were taken into consideration as well as the type of genre and publishing base these authors have. We have different genres from contemporary fiction to erotica! We also have self published authors, e-book exclusive authors, and a major NY publisher author as well. They are all outstanding representatives of the diverse publishing community and amazingly talented authors as well.

These nominees will each be featured throughout January and I invite you to come back on each of these special dates to meet the nominees, read my own personal review of each book, and to win prizes just for participating in the events!

Then, at the end of January, YOU will vote on who you think should receive the Book Boost Blogger of the Year award!

The winning author will receive the following prizes:

1. A year of FREE cover ad promotion at the Book Boost;
2. A custom designed trophy (for bragging rights, of course); and
3. A special gift selected for the individual winner!

And YOU, the voting audience will also be eligible to win autographed books, gift certificates and more prizes just for participating.

So, without further ado, the nominees (in the order of their scheduled feature author appearance date) are as follows:

wow! Seems like such an inadequate expression for something like this. You are to be congratulated upon your business savvy, and your success. Both are well deserved.

Hi Kerri, Congrats on your 1-year anniversary here. Hmmm, you might need to consider teaching a course for business book savvy/or how to promote yourself and your books. Cause I've 'known' you from the start---winning your 1st prize---and my first ever prize on line---and I can see how you moved up to the top over the course of time. So kudos to you on success well deserved and earned.

P.S. At least I think it was your first, if not one of your first, prize giveaways that I won back in 2008.
As the old commercial said,
You've come a long way, baby!!!

Darn it, why can't I get it all out in one spiel:

Congrats to the nominees.
