What I'm writing: Spring Eternal (moving forward) and the aforementioned vampire story. The latter is a one that always retreats quietly to the background when I'm working on my usual stuff, and works well when I give it time. Total of 2403 today.

What I'm reading: Three to get deadly by Janet Evanovich. I usually love women investigators, having a bit of a hard time warming up to this one. 2 Chapters done though.

Yeah Cynthia.

Okay, I'm going to be bad today and not do any writing tonight. Mainly because it took an hour and a half to get our dinner at the wings place. Uggg. That and I spent all last night reading instead of sleeping.

Writing - Assassin's Soul edits
Adding Prologue - 277 new words

Reading - Really excited to finally get the correct Nook file for this book. STayed up all night reading.

Hectate's Own by Dana Marie Bell - whole ebook

Jewelry - Thanks for being my first sale. I'll ship that out to you tomorrow.

Oh and I forgot. Yes, I'm homeschooling my oldest this year and will add the youngest next year. My kids have ADHD and High-Functioning Autism respectively.

While my husband and I support public education and wish our kids to be in public school, we can't abide by the fact that teachers expect quiet, robots to sit still in classrooms all day and 'learn'. That is not our kids and between bullying by classmates and teachers who humiliate kids for being different...it's not been good for our kids.

Schools need to realize that not every student fits in a square box and make allowances for things outside 'normal'. We (I) can make adjustments at home as needed for the kids and we don't have to worry about depression.

But it does mean as a morning writer, I'm having a very hard time getting into writer mode because I'm constantly on call for help with school or have a chatterbox want to sit with me.

I'm close to just having to quit but writing is really the only 'me' thing I have right now so I don't want to give it up. But realistically I have to accept that I'm going to be writing short stories and novellas for a while and that my best word count really is a measly 250 words a day.

@Beth,

You mentioned losing your work last night. Have you thought of using DropBox to back your writing up? Your work gets saved to a server and you can use it to sync across computers.

I have drop box. It's like something happened to the machine at 3:03pm and nothing was saved across the internet. So when it hung up the file on Dropbox was from 3:03pm and the Google Drive excel spreadsheet I update data in was set back to that time too.

Didn't matter I had about 8 hours of various work the machine didn't keep it and nothing got migrated out. The machine was probably bad all day, I just didn't notice till the screen froze.

Day 16:
What I'm writing?
Today's total word count: 125 (Better than nothing.)

What I'm reading?
Chapters Completed: 0

What a day. Hair appointment that took up my morning, then my head cold attacked me in the afternoon. While I was in a zombie-like state, I went to school to pick up the twins to bring them to dance class, but I’d forgotten to send their dance clothes with them, so they weren’t dressed. Instead, I had to drive home so they could change. But that’s not the worst of it. The twins had gotten their ears pierced about three weeks ago, so they were still wearing their studs. Well, during gym class, they went swimming, and one of them got her goggles caught on the other’s ear and popped the stud out. This would’ve happened between 1:30 and 2:30. We were at home by 3:30, and the hole had already closed up most of the way. I couldn’t believe it. Luckily, I had an extra set of studs, although not as pretty as the one she lost, so I cleaned and sterilized one of them. Unfortunately, I basically had to pierce her ear with the stud. Ugh. Poor little muffin. We live in a small town without a jewelry store, so she would’ve had to go without a stud for months until our family vacation this summer. Not to mention, the pain from the piercing gun seemed to be harder for her to handle than the other twin, despite the Tylenol I’d given to her beforehand.

I had to rush them to dance class, then search for someone to help us find the earing. No luck yet. The pool was closed. The gym teacher has his class diving for it right now. This wouldn’t be such a big deal if Claire’s didn’t charge $30 for a new set. Hopefully, luck will be on our side, and we’ll find her lost stud. Why do these things happen when I’m already feeling like crap and can barely see straight? LOL

Beth,

I am sorry you lost so much work and the computer gave no indication that something had gone really wrong.

@Cynthia~

You are welcome! Will get it out this week (I hope). And I love the ramping up you're doing. Keep the incline going.

@Barbara~

Love that 2K+ total! Uber good. Can't remember that specific one of the Plum series. Did you start with the first one and work up to this one or just pick up this one?

@Beth~

I'm your first sale? How wonderful. I'm the first sale...I'm the first sale... Sorry, got carried away there. Oooh, wish I could have a whole night to read a whole book. Can't remember when that happened last for me. And, look at it this way...at least you got to eat out instead of cooking, eh? On the school thing, my kids attend private school even though it is a huge financial struggle to do so. It is so worth it. They get specialized attention and with my daughter's juvenile diabetes, I don't have to worry about her care. The staff all volunteered to get trained on her care. Wonderful stuff! Plus, I like her wearing uniforms because it makes our argument over what to wear so much easier as we enter the teen years. LOL

@Aidee~

I'm liking the Cabinet of the Dead in my imagination. Is it just me or is anyone else picturing themselves opening the pots and pans cabinet and finding a body stuffed inside? Anyone? No? Just me then? Ooorah on the word count!

@Lynnette~

Hey, 125 is cool. And remind me to tell you about my December "hair trauma" sometime. I also have a childhood ear piercing trauma in my past involving a pair of wire cutters. I kid you not. Hope you feel better soon! P.S. That is ALWAYS when this crap happens--when we feel like we just can't take anymore--it keeps piling on. Hugs to my fellow mom zombie.
