***UPDATED***

What I'm writing?

Book: The Cable
Starting Point: Page 101
Today's total word count: 999 (I kid you not!)

What I'm reading?

Book:  Hot Wheels and High Heels by Jane Graves
Starting Point: Beginning
2 Chapters Completed: YES!
Today's Book Note: First run in with hottie repo man.

Kerri's Progress Notes:

Having weird vibes this morning.  Probably a remainder from my episode yesterday of  "turtle terror" in the garage.  Yep, a turtle somehow got into my garage when we returned home from school and I was faced with trying to get it out without hurting it.  My eldest daughter was screaming at the top of her lungs..."Don't hurt it!  Don't hurt it!" and my son (the toddler) was screaming "I wanna see it.  I wanna see it."  Then my middle child was hiding in the car until it was all over--she couldn't face the drama.

And this myth about turtles being slow?  Total fabrication.  This sucker was lightning fast.

No.  Seriously.

My daughter wishes she had it on video as there was a lot of screaming going on.  Mostly coming from me.

But, alas, I'm happy to report that the turtle was redirected into the great outdoors and we'll leave Mother Nature to deal with him.  Cause this Mamma ain't down with the Turtle Drama.

Hope you are all doing well this Hump Day.

Keep those fingers doing keyboard push ups.

I enjoyed the turtle story. I once stopped to get a snapping turtle out of the road. I discovered why they have to be the closest thing to prehistoric dinosaurs. This thing had spikes down his back, hissed and lunged at me and was the size of my steering wheel. I stuck a stick in his mouth and dragged him over to a ditch and left him there.

As for the drink: Right now I'd like to say a shot of bourbon but I'm not a drinker. I love those slushes from Sonic the lemon berry ones in the summer. In the winter I love hot apple cider with cinnamon candy melted in it.The rest of the time I usually drink hot green tea.
I got my edits on Monday evening and finished them this morning. So I haven't posted a word count because I have no idea how many I wrote. I'll post my word count for today later (outside of the book I just finished editing). But I did post a chapter to my crit group on Monday, and did 4 critiques.

Book: The Cabinet of the Dead
Today's total word count: 1087
Progress Notes: I love writing first kisses.

What I'm reading?
Book: Across the East River Bridge by Kate McMurray
1K Completed: Yes!
Book Note: The ghost is doing the typical, flipping pages in a book to illuminate the passage the protagonist should read.

Favorite drink? Right now I could go with a calming glass of white wine after stepping barefoot on that dead yellowjacket. Yow! that hurt. It's a medicinal drink, right?

I've written 560 words on one project and 200 on another today. Life keeps interrupting.

Favorite pop: cherry Coke
Favorite alcoholic beverage: Barefoot Moscato or, if I need some pep, Coke with Disaronno amaretto.

Kerri,

If I lived nearby, I would've caught the turtle for you. We've caught or found a couple over the years. We kept them for an hour or two (to visit), then released them by the river. These were painted turtles. I wouldn't say they were slow like 100-year-old tortoises, but they certainly weren't speedy. LOL

Update on the earring chaos: My husband had a couple of middle school boys dive for it. He tried, but the pressure in 12 feet of water is harder for an adult to handle than kids. The boys found the back to the earring but not the stud, so we're not really further ahead. The pool is going to be drained next week, so maybe the earring will catch in the filter covering the drain. *crossing fingers* I really don't want her to go months with my ugly stud in her ear.

Day 18:
What I'm writing?
Today's total word count: 1,267

What I'm reading?
Chapters Completed: ch. 18

I’ve learned that colds often have high and low points, so when I felt the slightest improvement yesterday afternoon, I took advantage and got as much work done as possible. Good thing, because by late evening, my cold was back in full swing. This is one of my best word counts in this challenge, so I’m pretty happy about that, especially considering my brain is like mush this morning. Ugh.

Book: Emma Whitewood (working title)
Today's total word count: 0 words :(

Book: The Dark. Lady
2 Chapters Completed: Yes
Today's Book Note: The past is the rift in the present.
So far I am liking this book. It is very well written. The only thing I don't like are the flashbacks to the past every other chapter which pulls me out of the story and disrupts the momentum of the story that is taking place now.

I got home from work about 8PM yesterday and was feeling nauseous so was in bed by 9:30 with a heating pad. I managed to get up and go to work today but am still not feeling so great.

@Teresa~

Here turtle turtle turtle...I also love those Sonic real fruit slushes...the kids and I get them a lot during the summer. Life will get in the way but you still had a great writing day.

@Beth~

Lot of reading. Good stuff. More writing! More writing! :-)

@Aidee~

A+ on the writing. And I'm allergic to yellow jackets. Little beasts!

@Lynnette~

a/k/a Turtle Rescue Service. Now I know who to call for future events. :-) Fingers crossed for the earring rescue mission success. Big "germ free" hugs for the cold. Hang in there. Word count is impressive for your under the weather status!

@Linda B.~

Be sure to do some fun reading too. I'm often caught not taking time for that, but this challenge is my excuse to do so. Thanks for checking in.

@Cynthia~

Hope you feel better soon. Your T-shirt is in the mail today! Yipee!
