Day 24: Read1K Write1K Challenge Peels On

Down to the Core on Day #24

"A professional writer is an amateur who didn't quit." --Richard Bach

Kerri's Progress Notes:

PMS has found me and yesterday I was tempted to wallow around in ESP (emotional self pity).  But, I forced myself to that keyboard.  Cranked out some edits and pushed through almost my full 1K of writing.  It was tough, but I feel pretty good about my day.

Still not taking enough time to read for enjoyment but don't see a way to fit it in until I get through these edits.

Today, more dishes have gathered in my kitchen.  I'm not sure where they all come from.  Is there a dirty dish convention in town that I'm unaware of?  Are all the hotels booked?

And then the little ones are begging to be taken out for giant pretzels.  Just looking at those huge suckers makes my hips expand.  But they amaze and occupy my little ones for at least twenty minutes--if you include cheese dip it could be as much as half an hour!  I'll munch on carrots while I type.  They're good for eyesight or maybe just good for my fight against ab expansion.

So, that's where we are headed now and then back to writing while they're distracted.  Mawahhaahaaa!  Does that sound like evil laughter to you?  It sounded evil to me.

Oh look, the UPS man is here...gotta go!

Kerri-out!

What the heck? Did I have too many good writing days and now, the word count gods are against me? Ugh. Actually, I was swamped with work today. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

On a good note, the stalker just kidnapped my heroine. Now, the fun begins. Mawahhaahaaa!

@Lynnette~

Hey, I know about the work swampage. I just accepted a new proofreading job to add on to the mix. Can't help myself. I'm such a word nerd. ;-) Have I infected you with my "evilish" laugh?

@Jordan~

We MISSED you! So glad you're back. Loved the Great Gatsby. Hugs.

@Barbara~

Your word counts are smokin'! #grateful4U

@Aidee~

Big pretzels are good but I limited myself to one bite. I promise. Kids are grumpy today but I'm determined to get work done. Determined I tell you. Very impressed with your continued writing progress. Yehaw!

Book: Emma Whitewood (working title)
Today's total word count: 0 words
But, I am entering a contest with this MS and read some pages and edited. Also as a pantser I sometimes get stuck and need to stop to brainstorm and see where the story is going next.

@Teresa~

Sounds fab! You rock!

@Cynthia~

The key to great pantsing is to not get stuck. If you feel "stuck" coming on--change direction and write something else. Have your character get lost in a dream or stop and interview your character. Anything to keep writing. Even work on a different project if you must. Just don't stop. Brainstorm after you've written your words for the day. :-)
