Day 25: Read1K Write1K Challenge Flickers On

We'll Leave the Light on For You on Day #25

"Writing is not necessarily something to be ashamed of, but do it in private and wash your hands afterwards.” —Robert A. Heinlein

***UPDATED***

What I'm writing?

Book: The Cable
Starting Point: Page 101
Today's total word count: 969

What I'm reading?

Book:  Hot Wheels and High Heels by Jane Graves
Starting Point: Beginning
2 Chapters Completed: 0
Today's Book Note: N/A

Kerri's Progress Notes:

Just 5 more days on the challenge.  We are down to the end, folks!

I have two books to edit before then as well.  Eeek!  So, I'm going to devote my reading time to that for the remainder of the challenge.  I feel as if I've failed the reading portion of the challenge.  Bummer.  But I have kept up my writing with some good days and some bad days.  In the end, that's all you can ask for.

Very excited to see my "regulars" still hanging with me and to have some of those who have disappeared come back into the loop (hi Jordan)!

Today will not be the 4th Monday in a row I've had this week.  Today will be Highly-Productive-Thursday.  That's my goal anyway.

Later,
K.

Doubt monsters are rearing their heads.

Writing - Assassin Soul
Words - 120 yesterday and 0 today. Doubt monster, low energy, and challenging kids caused the words to vanish from my head today.

Reading - Yesterday I read the novella Tarnished Knight by Bec McMaster. I'd heard Kiss of Steel was supposed to be good so I read the 1.5 novella to see if I liked her writing style. Steampunk and Vamplike creature didn't do it for me. But the writing was good.

Today - Dance of Souls by Mandy M Roth. I liked the story but the end was abrupt. I Would have liked for there to have been another chapter or two to tie things up better.

Book: Emma Whitewood (working title)
Today's total word count: 0 words

Book: The Dark Lady
2 Chapters Completed: A few pages
Today's Book Note: Heroine is slowly recovering.

Well, I am not sure I am going to get any writing done tonight. I am still at work and I am under deadline and there are some pretty nasty bugs in the code so it looks like it may be a late night.

This challenge has been great for my writing. (Not so much for the dishes and laundry that's piling up.) My Camp Nanowrimo stats are incredibly consistent on their upward climb. No valleys and peaks just steady rises. Wow.

What I'm writing?
Book: The Cabinet of the Dead
Today's total word count: 1081
Progress Notes: My plot just took an unexpected right turn. Information which I'd outlined to blow the situation wide open is instead being dismissed as the ravings of a madman. Who knew?

What I'm reading?
Book: Across the East River Bridge by Kate McMurray
1K Completed: Yes!
Book Note: Now the MCs are dreaming that they are the historical characters they are reading about in the diaries.

Thursdays are truly a wasted day for me writing wise. I taught class then had company then family. I only wrote about 25 words in between interruptions. Darn it. I did read some last night though.

@Beth~

Slay the monsters and move on. You know how to do it. Push on in a new direction. Take a break from that MS and try a new one for a bit.

@Cynthia~

See my notes from yesterday. Try to squeeze in 15 minutes every day no matter what. Just 15 minutes.

@Aidee~

You have been incredibly steady and you know the saying about being "slow and steady" don't you? ;-) The beauty of writing on a regular basis--your brain begins to live and create all the time--even when you're not writing. Love that your plot took an unexpected turn and surprised you.

@Teresa~

I think yesterday was much better than today will be. End of the month duties are creeping up on me slowly but surely. Plus I had a little sick spell last night and it lingers today. I'll double your darn it. :-p

I hope you're not coming down with the virus your kids had last week. UGH! I always end up in the hospital when I get it. Start dosing now if you start feeling the least been sick.
