Day 26: Read1K Write1K Challenge Drips On

 Squeeze Out a Few more Drops on Day #26

“Keep a small can of WD-40 on your desk—away from any open flames—to remind yourself that if you don’t write daily, you will get rusty.” —George Singleton

Kerri's Progress Notes:

Yesterday went pretty well up until the end.  I can't truly say that it wasn't another Monday, but I did make some progress and attended a great book reading at the local museum.  Details here on the blog later today.

But then I had a really bad sick spell last night.  I feel a notch better this morning.  Not sure what it was just yet, but I'm hoping it has passed.  I don't have time for that!  Don't germs know this?  Gee whiz!

Back to editing this morning and planning on writing this afternoon.  Hope I hang in there.

We are down to the wire folks.  Closing in on our 30 days fast.

See you in the trenches.

I think you passed your germs on to me. And I'm not talking computer virus. LOL Seriously. I feel like crap today. My head is in a funk, and I just can't shake it. But I have work to do, so I'll have to figure out a way. Going to try some lavender oil and see if that works.

I hope you're feeling better and knocking things off your list.

What I'm writing?
Book: Untitled
Starting Point: 0
Today's total word count: I started at 30,047 words (where did that 687 words go, from yesterday's post?) and today I made it to 31,000. I have a major sinus infection and my throat is sore. It is unseasonably cold her in East Texas and I am SO not used to this!

Jordan's Progress Note: I was up until 12:00 am editing several chapters for an agent.... I'm really excited to see where this goes. :)

What I'm reading?
Book: The Selection
Starting Point: Chapter Two
2 Chapters Completed: Yes!
Today's Book Note: I will hopefully read more tonight!

What I'm writing?
Book: The Cabinet of the Dead
Today's total word count: 1008
Progress Notes: On to the good part (or at least the sex). I'm so predictable. :)

What I'm reading?
Book: Across the East River Bridge by Kate McMurray
1K Completed: Yes!
Book Note: Ah ha! It was a murder staged to look like a murder-suicide.

Apologies, didn't check in yesterday--am on track though.
What I'm writing: part 3 of my romance series 2767 yesterday, 1039 today.
What I'm reading: Out of the Shadow by J.S. Winn, 4 chapters total in 2 days.

Progress notes: Happy with the direction the writing is going. Reading is slow, but mostly because it's an ebook. The story is good, a major jaw-dropping twist just happened.

Writing -

Assassin's Soul Prologue - added 215 new words. Still tweaking this. Trying to keep it short but still get in what I want.

Reading - Nothing today but since I've read quite a few novellas this month, I think I have some extra pages somewhere.

Breaking Away : I wrote 1133 words today. And did lots of research on child custody and domestic violence. Depressing stuff but interesting.
Teresa R.

Kerri: Edits are so time consuming and require so much concentration. I don't know how you can break off and write. Good luck.
And Ladies: I hope you sloth off the bugs. That really sucks. Feel better!!

No writing or reading done today, unless you count pages I’m editing for others. I wasn’t feeling well and just couldn’t push myself today.

@Lynnette~

Hope you're feeling better now. And germ free hugs to you.

@Jordan~

There you are and sick, too. Ugh! Our temps have been all over the map here in Alabama as well. Hang in there. Summer is coming and there will be no looking back I assure you. AND BIG YAY on the agent edits. You go girl! Keep me posted!

@Aidee~

Thanks again for the well wishes. They must have worked--I'm almost chipper today. Hee Hee. And, of course, we know what the good parts are, don't we? ;-)

@Barbara~

Those are good, solid numbers on your progress. Very proud of you. Where do you stand over-all on your progress?

@Beth~
Great to see you checking in. I just now picked up the jewelry piece from the PO Box. Haven't even opened it yet. Kind of like Christmas Morning on hold. Saving it for the end of the challenge as a treat to myself!

@Teresa~

That does sound depressing but I love to hear about your progress. I'm feeling better today and back to edits. Finishing up one project and starting a new one first thing in the morning. Had to install a little switch in my brain where I turn off the writer's mind and turn on the editor's mind. ;-)
