"Writing is its own reward." --Henry Miller
OUR GRAND PRIZE WINNER ANNOUNCED: See Below!
***UPDATED***
What I'm writing?
Book: The Cable
Starting Point: Page 101
Today's total word count: 1,976
FOR A CHALLENGE GRAND TOTAL OF: 53,192
What I'm reading?
Epic FAIL on the READING CHALLENGE. Too many editing projects that sucked up all my reading time.
Kerri's Progress Notes (REVISED):
We've made it! The final day and boy it is a humdinger for me!
I've had about 30 things "DUE" today. Between my daughter's big end of school year project to my car tag renewal to 2 editing projects and on and on and on...
Why is everything due on April 30th?
We've pushed through. We've done it. Now, the question remains...will be keep doing it after the challenge is over?
I'd love to stay in touch with all of you and hear how it goes in the days, weeks and months to come.
So, how did the challenge turn out?
We started off with 23 participants.
We ended up with only 6 of you completing the challenge.
We've had 4 prize winners thus far.
And there will be one GRAND PRIZE WINNER announced tomorrow right here on this post. Be sure to check back for the details and announcement.
I'd also like to hear the final numbers from everyone. How many words (all total) did you write during the challenge. Be sure to post it here.
But...in my book...we are all winners because...
We have pages written.
We have goals realized.
We have made new author friends.
That spells SUCCESS in my book any day of the year.
Thanks to all of you who participated. I wish you all the success you deserve.
Hugs,
Kerri

GRAND PRIZE WINNER:
May is here and the challenge is over. But I encourage all of you to keep challenging yourselves every day.
I'm off to edit and judge a contest today and will take a break from writing. Just for today!
In celebration of our completed challenge, I'm giving away one final prize...a GRAND PRIZE.
This is for the person who completed the challenge every single day and reported in every single day. She didn't miss one day. Amazing!
I don't have a pic of the prize, but the Grand Prize is a huge Goodie Bag of gifts and books. And the lucky winner is...
AIDEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats and thanks to all for an amazing challenge. Please stay in touch.
Kerri...out!

Probably not going to make many words today. So I'll just put up my writing totals.
Worked on two manuscripts - First Draft of Starlight Treasures and Edits on Assassin's Soul. Total words for the month 3855.
Slightly less than half my daily goal. Still not making my daily goal but this month has been the most productive so far this year.
Thanks Kerri for hosting this challenge.
PS I hope you got the pendant okay and liked it.
Okay, deep breath:)
What I'm writing: part 3 of my series and a small scene for the vampire story -- over 2,900 words altogether.
What I'm reading: Finished Out of the Shadow by J.S.Winn, 2 chapters.
Day 30:
What I'm writing?
Today's total word count: 282
What I'm reading?
Chapters Completed: ch. 25
Well, that’s the best I could do considering my workload and the fact that I had to stop working earlier than normal because of the recital tonight. Still, I made a point of getting some words down. I’m not going to quit there though. I’m staring a new challenge tomorrow. ☺
This month's total: 19,174. Wow. I can't believe I wrote that much in a month AND still managed to get work done. Thanks so much for hosting this challenge, Kerri. You've really shown me a lot about myself.

What I'm reading?
Book: Across the East River Bridge by Kate McMurray
1K Completed: Yes!
Book Note: Creepy goings on at the cemetery. I should be able to finish this book by tomorrow.
This has been such a wonderful experience for me, Kerri. Thank you so much for this challenge!
Well I ended up doing 477 on To Capture a Highlander's Heart: The Courtship. And 263 words on Breaking Away.
I edited two chapters. Did 3 critiques for other people.
My total word count for the the day 745.
Total word count for the month was 20,540 words.
I really wish I could have typed 30,000 but I will next month.
I edited an entire manuscript in there, did partial edits to another, did about 30 critiques during the month too. And republished one. So I think I did accomplish a lot.
I will continue the challenge. I have to if I intend to finish my SEAL manuscript by the end of June.
I've really appreciated you doing this. It really has inspired me to push for more and more.
And I will check back with you.
Should you need to contact me about the self-publishing info don't hesitate to do so.

Book: Emma Whitewood (working title)
Today's total word count: 465 words.
I am at 15,800 words.
Book: Lord of Wicked Intentions by Lorraine Heath
2 Chapters Completed: Yes.
I am going to continue the daily word count goal. I am wanting to get the book done by the end of June especially since I am entering a contest.
Kerri, thank you so much for the challenge. I know I wasn't consistently writing everyday but the challenge has made me think about my writing everyday and to write even when I don't feel like it or am tired. It's a push sometimes for me when I feel drained at the end of the day, but if I don't do this the book won't get done.
I am also making time for exercise and I am hoping the physical activity will help me feel better and boost my energy levels.
Another note, I don't know if you have a mailing list but if you would be kind enough to add me to it, I would appreciate it.
I enjoyed The Book Factory class and would like to be kept informed about any other courses you offer.
@Beth~

I know you had some bad days here and there, but you stuck with it. You pulled it through and you did a terrific job. So thrilled with what you accomplished. I have a mailing list through my Kerri Nelson website but I don't do a lot of mailings. Best way to stay up to date on me is to e-mail me. :-) Please do.
